The Challenge

Maneuvering:

Object: Going through hoops at the bottom of the pool

Number of points: 1 pt per hoop (two points per hoop if we can get back through!)

Max time: 3 minutes
Real life situation: avoiding obstacles in the ocean, get into spaces to collect data

Coral Reef Restoration:

Object: Picking up the coral and moving it to a designated area

Number of points: 1 point for every specimen that is successfully moved to the designated area

Max time: 4 minutes
Real life situation: basically self explanatory, to pick up and drop off items

Specimen Collection:

Object: Collect Schworoctopuses from the benthic environment

Number of points: 2 points per collected specimen

Max time: 4 minutes

Oil Well Repair

Object: - Protect the environment by plugging a busted pipe from an oil rig

            - Pick up the oil well cap

            - Place cap completely on leaking oil pipe

Number of points: 10 points for successful completion

Max time: 3 minutes
