Daily Log OR

Day 3:

May 5. 2017

Today we did a little more research, worked on the website a bit and had our interview, which went really well. After that we had a lot of fun trying out Mrs. S's ROV for the first time which was super cool.

Tomorrow we are planning on getting our parts and starting work on the ROV. I'm really looking forward to it:)

Day 4:

May 9. 2017

Today I started practicing soldering! First we watched a few videos on how to strip wires first, and then we practiced on little bits of wire. I think I did an okay job...

Tomorrow I am hoping to get the hang of soldering a little better by practicing some more. I'm sure we will also work on the plan for our ROV tomorrow.

Day 5:

May 11. 2017

Today I started working on the motors with the help of Emma and Amy. We've almost finished attaching the propellors to the motors, and we only have to screw one more propellor onto the motor.

Next class I am planning on working on the motors a more by attaching the last propellor and creating the tether management cross.

Day 6:

May 12. 2017

Today we finished attaching the motors to the propellors and made the tether management cross. It's starting to look really good.

Next class we are planning on finishing of the motors by doing the waterproofing on the wires and attaching them to the tether. I am looking forward to it!

Day 7:

May 16. 2017

Today we attached the tether to the motors and started to work on soldering them. I also spent some time checking out the frame and was about to see if it would work in the water.

Tomorrow I am hoping on finishing the waterproofing for the motors (which might take awhile, so we might need to work on it on Friday too). Anyways, I am looking forward to it!

Day 8:

May 18. 2017

Today I worked with Emma on finishing the soldering and working on the waterproofing which we finished. I also spent a bit of time with Amy on drilling the holes into the pipes.

Tomorrow I hope to get our waterproofing checked and test how our motors work in the water!

Day 9:

May 19. 2017

Today Emma and I had our waterproofing checked and added a little glue. We then worked with Amy to adjust the frame and checked how much it weighed in the water.

Next class we hope to attach the pool noodles and finish the control box.
