Day 8

5/19/17

It was a super busy day today!
Otilija and Emma have completed the motors, so I was able to put them onto the finished frame. We then measured the in water weight and determined how much buoyancy we need in pool noodles. Next class we will have our battery ready, and create a clasping idea. We struggled with the frame plan at first we we figured it out!

Day 7

5/16/17

Our ROV is starting to really come together! Amy has finished cutting the PVC pipe and put together the frame. Emma and Otilija have made more progress on the motors towards making them water proof, and Claire has finished about half of the control panel. Hopefully we will be able to get our ROV in the water soon!

Day 6

5/12/17
Today was super productive for our team! Emma and Otilija worked on the motors together and attached the motors to the propellors, and much more. Claire worked with a partner to make a practice circuit panel, it was successful! Our team has bought our pipe and Amy will be cutting the measurements next class. Soon we will be moving towards completed control boxes and putting our ROV in the water!

Day 5

5/11/17

Hello! Today was our first day practicing using actual tools. Our motor makers began putting together the motors while our frame builder made a model prototype for our actual ROV. Lastly our control box maker practiced stripping wire of the rubber coat and soldering two wires together. Today was a great day we caught up a lot of things we felt we were behind on and are ready to have another productive day tomorrow!

Day 4

5/9/17
Today our motor makers watched videos on how to solder and are now working hands on! We also have started working on our frame by drawing the dimensions and such. One of us tested the frame idea out with the PVC pipe in the back of class. The structure seems to work. Most of us were on our own today.

Day 3

5/5/17

Today we researched more on how ROVs function and got to the interview portion of this project. As a team we headed over to the kid pool to try maneuvering an already built ROV to get an idea of how they work and how the controls work.

Day 2

The second day!

We are doing a lot of work on researching ROV's. We are still putting it all up on our website under "What is a ROV?".

The interviews have started for the other teams to make sure everyone is ready before we start building, and we are still getting ready for ours.
